Tracking engagement with research: Dr. Terrie Moffitt

June 26, 2017
Terrie is the Nannerl O. Keohane University Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University and Professor of Social Behaviour and Development, Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.

Terrie uses altmetrics for a variety of purposes, including staying abreast of trending research in her field and tracking engagement with her lab’s research.

Terrie uses altmetrics tools that map attention in order to better understand how to communicate her research to stakeholders worldwide.

She says, “We used to envisage the college professor down the hall, but now we have altmetrics, we can see what kinds of readers are tweeting and blogging about our papers. We need to communicate with them in a different way.”
